Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Where Light Blooms is an invitation into a space of silence, purity, and transcendence. My practice begins with fragments—delicate pieces of paper, cut by hand, layered and assembled into forms that echo the lotus and its leaves. These fragile materials, once separate, converge into a larger whole, becoming symbols of resilience and rebirth.
The lotus has long stood as a metaphor for awakening: rising from the depths, it seeks the light. Through vast installations and sculptural paper works, I aim to create an environment where this journey can be felt, not only seen. The whiteness is deliberate—it carries the essence of clarity, of renewal, and of untainted hope.
This body of work was conceived as a meditation on hope. In times of uncertainty, the act of cutting, arranging, and transforming paper becomes an intimate ritual, a way of affirming that even in silence, beauty and possibility can emerge.
In Where Light Blooms, light is not merely illumination, but a metaphor for the human spirit—quiet, enduring, and endlessly seeking. These works are not answers but offerings: spaces where viewers may pause, breathe, and perhaps find their own reflection of hope within the unfolding petals.
