Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Fused Glass Open Studio gives emerging and experienced artists the space, tools, and freedom to work independently, refine their skills, and explore personal creativity in kilnformed glass.
This self-directed time is for those already familiar with basic fused glass techniques and hand tools. To participate, you must have completed at least one Fused Glass class at VisArts.
Open Studio is non-instructional. If you need assistance, private instruction is available by appointment ($50 for the first 30 minutes, $80 per hour thereafter—contact VisArts to check availability).
Studio Rental
$15 per hour (two-hour minimum)
Includes basic hand tools, grinders, a strip cutter, glass cleaner, and a dedicated workspace
Bring your own materials, including COE 90 glass
Additional Fees
Kiln firings: $20 per firing on a 20″x 20″ shelf
Mold rentals: $2.50–$5 per use
Space is limited and reservations are required.
Open Studio offers a supportive, well-equipped environment where confident glass artists can experiment, produce, and refine their work at their own pace.
