A variety of traditional handbuilding methods, including pinched, coiled, slab-construction, and innovative forming techniques, will be introduced to challenge and inspire students’ notions of ceramic sculpture.
The full range of ceramic finishes, including underglazes, terra-sigillata, glazing, and firing techniques will be introduced and explored to emphasize the interfacing of ceramic surface and form.
