SUMMARY:Ceramic Sculpture (Ages 14+)
DESCRIPTION:Students will explore various methods of sculptural clay construction and the aesthetic concerns of the sculptural object. \nA variety of traditional handbuilding methods\, including pinched\, coiled\, slab-construction\, and innovative forming techniques\, will be introduced to challenge and inspire students’ notions of ceramic sculpture. \nThe full range of ceramic finishes\, including underglazes\, terra-sigillata\, glazing\, and firing techniques will be introduced and explored to emphasize the interfacing of ceramic surface and form.
