Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Make your ideas move, change, and come to life! You’ll learn how to create animations using traditional techniques and digital tools—building everything from quick sketches to complex tweening, layering, and scene changes in the open-source Wick Editor.
What we’ll do each week:
Week 1: Get set up + learn illustration basics
Week 2: Storyboarding basics + animation exploration
Week 3: Tweening + animating figures
Week 4: Create a 30-frame animation
Week 5: Create a custom 60-frame animated story
What you’ll need:
A webcam
PC or Mac computer with a 3-button mouse and scroll wheel
Minimum requirements: Intel i3 processor + 4GB RAM
A drawing pad (optional—helps with smoother drawing, but not required if you’re comfortable using a mouse)
This class will be held on Zoom. You’ll need a webcam and the ability to download Zoom on your computer, phone, or tablet. We’ll send the login link by email after you register.Â
