16mm Draw-on-Film Workshop
Saturday, July 15 | 12-3 PM | Studio 156
Join VisArts’ 2023 Studio Fellow, Joana Stillwell, and her collaborator, Emily Francisco, for an experimental 16mm film workshop!
Participants will draw on transparent film leader to create a moving image artwork that will be played on a 16mm projector.
Stillwell’s upcoming solo show, Joana Stillwell: all the windows in my mother’s house (Gibbs Street Gallery), is a site-specific installation that references the light in her parent’s home and investigates her family archive.
Materials (precut 11-second loops of 16mm clear film leader, templates, sharpies, and instructional zines) will be provided.
This event is free, but to reserve your space, please add a ticket and check out below.
