VisArts’ faculty is composed of professional artists, Montgomery County Public School teachers, private school teachers, and teachers from our Emerging Teacher Mentorship Program.
Pim is a ceramic artist with a passion for storytelling through form and texture. Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, Pim is currently based in the U.S., where they explore themes of nostalgia, longing, and human connection through their work.
With a background in Fine Art: 3D Ceramic from BYU-Idaho, Pim is dedicated to both craftsmanship and education. They aim to create work that not only resonates aesthetically but also fosters introspection and emotional engagement. In addition to their artistic practice, Pim is passionate about making art accessible to all and aspires to use ceramics as a tool for healing and self-expression, particularly in working with children and adults with special needs.
Cristin is Professor of Art History at Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Maryland and the CEO/Co-Owner of Green Stripe Consulting, LLC. Prior to MC, she served an eleven-year tenure at St. Mary's College of Maryland as Associate Professor of Art History with 4 years as Director of Boyden Gallery and the Fine Art Collection. She holds a PhD in art history from the University of Texas at Austin and a certification in TESOL from Montgomery College. Her off-campus experience includes museum education at the National Gallery of Art and over ten years in leadership, curriculum and exam development for AP Art History.
Cristin's teaching and business philosophy centers on open education, globalization and decolonization, visual and media literacy, and maximizing student agency in learning.
