Maven Kahn knew they wanted to be an artist from a young age and cultivated their artistic talent, in various modalities including painting, drawing, wood, metal, ceramics and with a great interest in found objects. Maven is always creating independently, at the VisAbility Art Lab, as an apprentice with metal smith Nick Barnes, assisting sculptor Howard Connelly, and as an intern at Washington Glass School under the tutelage of Erwin Timmers, Tim Tate, and Michael Janis. Maven also has a great interest in music. Maven had their first solo show A Wild and Untamed Thing, Concourse Gallery at VisArts, Rockville, MD in August 2018 and has participated in numerous group shows.
Some of the other places Maven has recently exhibited their art include the Round House Theater; Erase Hate’ Outsider Art Inside the Beltway; Inspired Bodies Artfully Wilde; Willow Street Gallery, Out of the Box; VisAbility Art Lab Collectives and Creative Craft Council, Strathmore Mansion.
