D’Ante Whitlow

D’Anté grew up in Detroit and started taking art seriously in 3rd grade. In middle school he found pop culture which worked with his use of lines and themes. Everything had heavy lines and super hero comics were the norm.

D’Anté came to Maryland at 14 and graduated from Gaithersburg High School. At Montgomery College, he studied fine arts, has taken lots of classes and has earned his art certificate.

D’Anté works at Creative Edge Signs and Graphics making signs and logos. He came to work at VisArts as a gallery assistant in August 2014 and found the VisAbility Art Lab in the spring of 2016. Much of his art is influenced by television and generally depicts figures, animals and logos. You will always see D’Anté with paper and pencil in his hands.

D’Anté has exhibited his art in numerous group shows including at VisArts and the Round House Theater.
