VisArts offers formal internships to qualified applicants. A VisArts internship is a prearranged, structured learning experience that takes place within a specific time period. The experience should be relevant both to the intern’s academic and professional goals and to the professional disciplines represented at VisArts. Interns must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours/week during their internship. High school interns must be able to commit to 6 hours/week during the internship.
Students who serve as gallery interns will help with our exhibition program by creating signage, designing catalogues, registering images, preparing and installing artwork, promotions, assisting with Inside Art programming, and other exhibition or artist-related events.
Gallery Internships are a minimum of 16 weeks in length and offered in Spring, Summer, and Fall. Montgomery County High School Student Internships are for one academic year. High School interns must be in their junior or senior year and at least 16 years of age.
If you are a Montgomery College student, you may be eligible for the Montgomery College Arts Institute Internship during the Spring and Fall semesters. Interns through this program earn College Credit and a $1000 Stipend. For more information and an application packet please contact: Professor David Krueger 240-567-7935 David.Krueger@montgomerycollege.edu.
