From Albrecht Durer in the 15th-16th centuries through our current contemporary art scene, artists have interpreted the many lines, forms, colors, and moods of trees – in forests, mountainsides, townscapes, and gardens. Shown below is a chestnut tree painted by Van Gogh. In this class, we will focus on a different artist each time, and after discussing what makes his or her work unique, we will draw trees we can see. Please email for a materials list to Kate Lanxner at treetopfineart@gmail.com
