Create a lovely art piece suitable for framing to beautify your home environment. This photo is to be used for reference, not to copy exactly; remember your piece will be at least 3 times as large! We will have these actual seashells and more, in the classroom for you to hold and get a closer look at.
Class #1: Students will be shown the work of colored pencil and watercolor artists Katherine Tyrell and Franco Testa. They’ll have a choice to create a closeup of a shell or a whole set-up as shown in our sample, but changing things to make it their own. We will cover how to set up the composition to make use of the whole space. Demonstrations are given at the start of each class on watercolor techniques, both transparent and opaque and on proper use of brushes.
Class #2: Colored pencil lines may be added in the second class once the paint has dried. First, students may want to add a third watercolor layer.
This class is for ages 14 and up.
