In this series course (open to teens and adults), you’ll be learning printmaking techniques with the “Soft-Kut” carving block (easier than traditional linoleum) and the Gelliplate. Both are non-toxic.

The Native-American artistic traditions have much to offer as inspiration. You’ll carve and print a mandala as your final project. Your design could start with a template similar to the one shown here in an ink drawing by Kate Lanxner, the instructor.

During classes, you will have the choice of creating smaller scale multiples for notecards, or larger scale prints for wall art. The blocks range in size from 4.5″ x 6″ to 9″x 12″. Gelliplates are 6 x 6″ and 8″ x 10″.
