Which Class Is Right For Me? 

Introduction to Wheel throwing (5 week sessions)
This introductory course is designed for beginners to learn the basics of throwing, trimming and glazing This clay is perfect for anyone brand new to clay and serves as  prerequisite for VisArts Advanced Beginner and beyond classes.
No prerequisite required for this class.  

Beginner’s Wheel (12-week session)
This class is designed for students with little or no pottery wheel experience and covers all the fundamentals so that students may comfortably move on to Advanced Beginner and beyond classes. 
No prerequisite required for this class.

Beginner’s Handbuilding (12-week session)
This class is designed for students with little or no experience in creating potter using handbuilding techniques. Students will learn how to create beautify forms using handbuilding techniques such as pinch pottery, coiling and slab building. 
No prerequisite required for this class.

Mixed Level Wheel
This class is open to students of all skill levels; whether you’ve never used a wheel or you have years of experience you’ll learn how to build and expand your skills and create beautiful functional ceramic forms. 
No prerequisite required for this class.

Advanced Beginner through Intermediate Classes
We offer both wheel and handbuilding Advanced Beginner classes. These classes are not for beginners.
Prerequisite: Intro to Ceramics or Beginner Wheel or Handbuilding Class. If experience is from elsewhere, student must arrange to show proficiency prior to first class. 

Intermediate Wheel
Intermediate classes are best suited to experienced potters and allow for in-depth understanding of the thrown form.  
Prerequisite: Previous classes and an ability to throw at least a 6-inch cylinder.
