Which Class Is Right For Me? 

Introduction to Wheel Throwing
This introductory course is designed for beginners to learn the basics of throwing, trimming, and glazing. This class is perfect for anyone brand new to clay and serves as a prerequisite for VisArts Advanced Beginner and beyond classes. Student may register up to 2 times for this class. Students with prior VisArts ceramics class series experience  are not eligible to register for this class. 
This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only) No prerequisite required for this class.  

Beginner’s Wheel 
This class is designed for students with little or no pottery wheel experience and covers all the fundamentals so that students may comfortably move on to Advanced Beginner and beyond classes. 
This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only) No prerequisite required for this class.

Beginner’s Handbuilding 
This class is designed for students with little or no experience in creating pottery using handbuilding techniques. Students will learn how to create beautiful forms using handbuilding techniques such as pinch pottery, coiling, and slab building. 
This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only) No prerequisite required for this class.

Mixed Level Wheel
This class is open to students of all skill levels; whether you’ve never used a wheel or you have years of experience you’ll learn how to build and expand your skills and create beautiful functional ceramic forms. 
This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only) No prerequisite required for this class.

Advanced Beginner through Intermediate Classes
We offer both wheel and handbuilding Advanced Beginner classes. These classes are not for beginners.
Prerequisite: Intro to Ceramics or Beginner Wheel or Handbuilding Class. If experience is from elsewhere, students must arrange to show proficiency prior to first class. This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only)

Intermediate Wheel
Intermediate classes are best suited to experienced potters and allow for an in-depth understanding of the thrown form.  
Prerequisite: Previous classes and an ability to throw at least a 6-inch cylinder. This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only)

Sculpture
Sculpture classes focus on construction and the aesthetic concerns of the sculptural object.
This is a class for adults (ages 14+ only). No prerequisite required for this class.
