Armed with a pad and colored pencils, students ages 14+ will sleuth out new subjects to sketch in the pedestrian-only section of Rockville Town Square!
Each of the five sessions will be a scavenger hunt focusing on a new category of objects to find and draw, including things that grow, man-made structures, and people.
Students will learn to use shade and tone and represent textures and surfaces to capture scenes around the Square. We will compare drawings and talk about how to develop and improve drawing skills.
This class is for student ages 14+ of all experience levels. Materials are included
Students will meet in front of VisArts’ Pop-Up at 36F Maryland Avenue. There are many places to sit and sketch in the Square, but you may feel more comfortable bringing a portable stool. If it rains, we will continue drawing, either under the bandstand cover or inside VisArts’ Pop-Up.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
