Join us on Saturday, September 24 from 11 AM – 4 PM to bejewel Khánh H. Lê’s “From Lake Needwood, with Love” mural, which is on view in our Gibbs Street Gallery.
VisArts Studio Fellow Lê is a Vietnamese artist based in Washington, DC. He creates artwork that explores his personal and familial identity, sharing his and his family’s experience as Vietnamese refugees living in internment camps. Lê uses plastic craft jewels as well as acrylic paint, glitter, and printmaking techniques to blend idyllic fantasies and horrifying realities. He uses these mediums and stories to explore notions of home, country, and safety.
We’re thrilled to offer this opportunity to contribute to Lê’s mural!
This event is free, but to reserve your space, please add a ticket and check out.
