Students will explore the classic design elements of squares and rectangles created by pieces of opaque, transparent, and specialty glass.  The class focuses on design and balance, and moving the pieces to find the pattern that speaks to you. The negative spaces are made with careful introduction of finely ground dark glass frit once the main design is completed.   This is a meditative practice and students are encouraged to take their time.

Thoughtful use of hand tools, strip cutters, and grinders will be encouraged to create a lovely finished piece, but as there are many precut elements, no glass experience is required to take this class.

The finished pieces will be ready for pickup in 2 weeks.

This class is for ages 14 and up.
Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class.
