A new series modeled on the classes we have held for children. We will be focusing on the work of one specific illustrator each week of both children’s and adults’ books and magazines. Students will gain an understanding of the materials the illustrators use, and their own personal styles. The objective is not to copy them exactly, but to get inspired, and to use the work as a jumping-off point. the featured artists will include Maxwell Parrish (magazines, along with his stand-alone canvases), Vashti Harrison (children’s books), Guweiz (fantasy book illustration, pictured here), Quentin Blake (of Roald Dahl’s books), Pierre LeTan (New Yorker covers), and Wendy Watson (children’s books).
This class is for ages 14 and up.
Instruction will be provided through the Zoom platform. Students will need to have a webcam and the ability to download zoom on their computer, phone, or tablet.
