This course introduces a variety of fiber arts practices . Students will learn to analyze the social and ethical issues within fiber arts and they develop technical competency.

 

Creative design and artisanship are emphasized. There will be three fiber arts projects in this series and will include a combination of two methods for each project: machine sewing and felting, knitting and crochet, and embroidery with hand -sewing. Sculptural fiber art and sculptural design will also be covered.
