In this course, students will learn the techniques of impressionist painting in the context of portraiture. We will focus on techniques such as composition, color, texture, and brush strokes. Students will work from photo references and produce a 16×20 inch impressionist portrait painting by the end of the course.
Students can bring photographs of the portrait they want to reference or they can choose from a photograph provided by the instructor.
