Join us to learn about the Holi holiday, taste traditional snacks, and experience an imaginary color festival.
Color festivals, during which participants toss gulal (colored powder) at each other, are the highlight of Holi. In honor of this tradition, participants will decorate photocopied photographs of themselves or create self-portraits with colored powders. A member of the Hindu community will lead a discussion on the history, cultural roots, and traditions associated with the festival.
We’re pleased to be collaborating with members of the Indian community to ensure that our Holi programs are authentic and appropriate.
This is a family-friendly activity that’s open to all. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants’ photographs must be emailed to kaskin@visartscenter.org by March 18.
