Students will be interpreting their version of this beautiful artwork by Nathalie Lete. Because we will be close to Valentine’s Day, it would be optional to make a border of hearts, which would be great if you have an owl-lover in your family. The artist has used several shades of pink and red, and there is even a rose!
Owls are naturally perfect for an art project since there are so many species and they have varied textures, lines, and colors. While waiting for layers of paint to dry during class time, we will have photos of different owls and drawing paper for participants to practice their drawing skills in the meantime.
The main lines of the composition will be sketched out in advance in pencil on the canvas for the children in the 8-10-year-old group to allow them more time for the color mixing and painting experience.
