Channel Your Inner Matisse

Students will be introduced to the diverse work of Henri Matisse, with a focus on his applications of cut outs. We will also review key principles of color theory, the practice of collage, and create a first piece following simple prompts. Students will then learn to use Gelli prints to personalize paper with patterns and color. Whilst keeping Matisse’s work as inspiration, students will create a large piece using their own gel printed paper and following a theme of their choosing.
