In this 4-week course, students will explore the potential of using reactive glass in kiln-forming glass.  You will learn what makes a glass “reactive”, how heat and layering pieces when firing can affect the intensity of a reaction.

By the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of the basics of reactive glass and how to begin to use the effects of reactive glass in your own fused glass creations.

Key Course Concepts:

  • Understand the science and properties of reactive glass.
  • Explore the different types of reactive glasses and their applications.
  • Learn how to incorporate reactive glass techniques into your fused glass projects.
  • Make reactive glass part sheets to use

Tuition for this class is underwritten by a grant from the Windgate Foundation.
