In this 6 week class, students will learn the basics of painting with acrylics. The students will explore and acquire skills in the elements of art such as line, composition, value, color, and form. Some of the techniques explored will be color mixing, shading, brush-handling, and rendering perspective. All subjects of the artworks will be derived from photos taken by students and/or their original compositions.

This class is designed so that it may be taken multiple times, and is appropriate for all skill levels, from any age over 13. It will help to build and improve upon the student’s portfolio.

Instruction will be provided through the Zoom platform. Students will need to have a webcam and the ability to download zoom on their computer, phone or tablet.

Materials are purchased separately and include: 4-ounce bottles of red, yellow, blue, white, and black acrylic paint, a set of high quality paint brushes, and two 16×20 inch stretched canvases. Students may purchase materials here

If you choose to use materials at home, you will need the following: acrylic paint (red, yellow, blue, black, white), paint brushes, a pencil, and a canvas/other surface.

Once you register for the class, you will be sent an e-mail with the Zoom URL to use to log in to the class. Please provide a correct and viable e-mail address when registering as this is how you receive your link.
