Alec Figura

In recent years, I’ve begun to realize the incredibly tangible and real effect that art can have on the world. I can point to songs that have changed the way I view the world, and paintings that have opened my eyes to completely different realities. I believe that while all art is beautiful, art done for the sake of others takes on an entirely different, special sense of beauty. With my art, I strive to bring attention to issues that I feel are important, and promote a more empathetic and loving school of thought. Because we are constantly exposed to the horrors of the world on the news, I feel that we have become somewhat jaded to it, and I hope that my art can bring a sense of gravity to the issues that I care deeply about.
