VisArts offers one of the most comprehensive ceramics programs in the DMV area with year-round online and on-site classes in wheel, hand-building, sculpture, glaze chemistry, and Raku.
Students enrolled in weekly classes are able to deepen their experience by having access to our Open Studio for up to 40 hours each week at no additional charge. Firing Passes are available for students with studios at home but who need access to kilns.
VisArts takes pride in its exceptionally quick firing times (within five days), which is a critical issue for students of all skill levels. Student work is fired in electric kilns and is bisque fired to Cone 04 and glazed to Cone 5/6.
