Mara Clawson

Mara Clawson is a winner of the VSA/Kennedy Center Emerging Young Artists with Disabilities award. Her artwork has been juried into and exhibited in six museums and 15 galleries across the United States. Her largest solo exhibition was at the Bodzin Art Gallery in Fairfax, VA, January- March 2020.

Mara is the subject of the documentary film entitled Living Art, by Ground Media’s director David Rochkind. This film toured in the 2019-2020 ReelAbilities Film Festivals in NYC, Toronto, Cleveland, Houston, and Virginia.  Living Art is part of an education campaign about disability and inclusion (livingart.education).

This is Mara’s 3rd year working in the VisAbility Art Lab, where she focuses primarily on creating ceramics. She also works at Art Enables and in her home studio in Bethesda, MD. She is an entrepreneur and the owner of When Colors Get AlongTM. You can see more of her work at MaraClawson.com.
