Commemorate the Year of the Ox with the new project that you can do entirely at home.

Feb. 12 marks the beginning of the Year of the Ox. The second animal of the Chinese zodiac, the ox denotes the hard work, positivity and honesty that will be manifested in all of us in the coming 12 months, according to astrologers.

Jupiter Lai, a Hong-Kong based Chinese and Western astrologer, says the ox is “grounded, loyal, gentle and trustworthy.”

Of course, any Taurean could have told you that!

You can now create your homage to the coming year with this take home glass project, suitable for all ages.  This take-home kit features a template fired on to your clear glass base in black enamel.  Individual packets of finely ground glass called Frit, are included so you can “color” the design in.

Enjoy the design process and have fun!

Your Kit will Include:
– Step-by-step instructions
– Clear base – 6”x 8”, with two loops for hanging – Prefired with outlined design
– Assorted large chunk glass frit
– Glue

Students will purchase the materials and follow along with the instructional video at home. This video is a short lesson on how to create your own fused glass panel.

Students will pick up material pack curbside from VisArts and drop the finished project off curbside to Visarts to be fired. Select a time for pick up/drop off here. That’s all you need to do!

VisArts will mail students their completed project to the address provided during registration. If your mailing address differs from your billing address, please write your mailing address in the Notes section during registration.
