Curated by Susie Brandt

Textile production has a history of bringing people together. In ancient societies women gathered to spin, weave, and converse. Participants in quilting bees and knitting circles have shared their burdens while spinning yarns, crafting protests, and creating social fabrics of many stripes.

Ripple presents works of contemporary artists inspired by the communal production of textiles and the creative potential of social interaction. The exhibition is a vivid mix of performance, documentary video, interactive electronics, collaboration and community activism.

Artists include: Annet Couwenberg, Melissa Webb, Queerstories (with Olivia Robinson, Rachael Shannon, and Kate Drabinski),Valeska Populoh, Force (with Rebecca Nagel and Hannah Brancato), Jen Liu, Naomi Davidoff, Emily Schubert
