Martina, a native of the Czech Republic, is a textile designer, abstract painting, and teaching artist. She loves storytelling, art, and travel. She uses her paintings and photography to create fabric patterns that convey a variety of life experiences. Her textiles are featured at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC, and other art institutions. Martina enjoyes the process of creating and as a teaching artist is drawn to the opportunities within a classroom: discovering one’s inner beauty and bringing it into the world. Her favorite word is joy; she believes art and creativity are just the perfect vehicles for finding joy in many aspects of our lives.
Martina holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Maryland College Park and an M.F.A. in Fashion Design from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco.
