Workshop: Creating Texture on Yupo Paper with Watercolor

This event has passed.

Yupo is a synthetic paper (polypropylene) that makes for a very exciting watercolor surface. Because it is non-absorbent, Yupo allows for special effects one cannot achieve on more traditional papers, it also requires a different technical approach. It lends itself well to vibrant compositions, abstraction, immediacy, printing techniques, and intuitive painting, especially since the paint can be easily removed!

This workshop will focus on how to create varied and exciting textures in your paintings on yupo. Students will learn how to paint, press, and print a patchwork of different textures in a multitude of colors, resulting in a vibrant geometric painting to take home! All skill levels welcome. No prior experience required.
