Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios

Loading Events

In this theoretical and practical course, we will explore the presence and impact of women in art history and how art has served as a tool to fight for women’s rights. Through historical and contemporary examples, we will examine how female artists have addressed issues of gender and inequality. Practical exercises will accompany the discussions to illustrate how seemingly private and personal themes are shared and reflect social issues. Participants will create artworks that explore these themes and contribute to the conversation about equality and women’s rights.

This class is for students ages 14 and up.

Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list accommodations needed during the class.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
