In partnership with The Small Press Expo 2024 (https://www.smallpressexpo.com/), join educator Kimberly Swanner as she mentors students about the path from hobby artist to career artist. Students will be encouraged and expected to make various forms of flat works like zines, prints, stickers, and more. What does it mean to run a booth? How do I budget and plan for post-sale taxes? Can I make a living out of this? What does it take to “go pro”?

These questions and more are answered in this 8 week-long class that culminates in participating in the 2024 Small Press Expo showroom at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in September.

While not required, students are allowed and encouraged to bring personal tablets and/or laptops for note-taking and/or project making.
Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class.
