Your instructor, Martina Sestakova, will introduce you to a famous piece of art and guide you through a fun exercise to practice painting in watercolors. This is not a series of copying classes. We will use an artist’s interpretation of a topic as a starting point for your own individual interpretation. We will cover the basics of composition, sketching, brushwork, and watercolor techniques (e.g., wet on wet and wet on dry). At the end of this course, you will be able to look at a painting, analyze it, and create your own piece. No experience is needed; basic watercolor supplies required.
