In Virginia Warwick’s irreverent performances and undersea installation, native natural inhabitants on the edge of extinction must contend with humans, human behavior and kitsch. For her solo exhibition, Warwick creates an undersea baby nursery for her fictional character, Olivia the Sea Turtle, who continues her adventures navigating between the worlds of humans and non-humans.

About the Artist: Virginia Warwick was born and grew up in Frederick, Maryland. She received an M.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art from the Rinehart School of Sculpture. Her sculptural installations and performances have been featured regionally and nationally including the Artscape Outdoor Sculpture Competition, Arlington Arts Center, ConnerSmith, Edison Place Gallery, Hood College, Goucher College, City Arts Gallery, Metro Gallery, Creative Alliance, E.M.P Collective, Current Gallery, 14kt Cabaret and the Windup Space. She has been participated in the Transmodern Festival in Baltimore, the Brooklyn International Performance Arts Festival in New York City and the Infringement Festival in Buffalo, New York.
