In this two-week intensive, students will learn how to wheel throw off the hump functional teapot parts, including body and spout, along with lids and handles for different teapot shapes. In addition, students will learn how to hand cut, trim, and create a sculptural knob to match the size and shape of each teapot.
Along the way, students will gain an understanding of the balance between the functional and aesthetic aspects of ceramic work – and may enjoy jasmine, black, white, and green tea with their tea sets.
This class is for students who have experience with clay.
