Keeping an art journal promotes mindfulness and captures moments in time on our journeys in a way a photo cannot. There are several art supplies that come in travel sizes for you to take with you. Your first job is to imagine you are on a “staycation.” Please choose a day with good weather, before class, to make a light pencil sketch of a local, meaningful place to you, on a separate sheet of paper. We will share these with the group and transfer them to a journal sketchbook.

In class, you’ll receive tips from the sketchbook guru’s book “Draw Your Day”- Samantha Baker who has kept journals for decades.

Materials Needed:

  • Sketchbook (hardcover, spiral-bound so it lays open flat while working)
  • Micron pens
  • Colored Pencils
  • Drawing pencil

Instruction will be provided through the Zoom platform. Students will need to have a webcam and the ability to download zoom on their computer, phone, or tablet. Once you register for the class, you will be sent an e-mail with the Zoom URL to log in to the class. Please provide a correct and viable e-mail address when registering as this is how you receive your link.

Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class.
