Enjoy the versatility of sketching ideas or creating finished art on the go. Students will learn to: work with layers; capture textures on the iPad and then use them as backgrounds for painting; choose and change colors, save, share, and organize artworks. The watercolor feature is especially well done, and we will spend a fair amount of time there. Instruction will include advice on printing images at home, locally or with an online vendor. This is a hands-on class. You’ll need to bring a fully charged iPad with Adobe Photoshop Sketch installed. Though you can use your finger to draw on the iPad, painting with a stylus, particularly a pressure-sensitive one, gives you more control over your brush strokes than using a finger and you may also it more comfortable. Beginners welcome.
iPad, preferably a newer one, charger or portable charger,
Adobe Photoshop Sketch, free app available on the App Store (you have to create a free account with Adobe first but it doesn’t commit you to anything)
We will take a lunch break from 2:30 – 3:00 pm. You may bring lunch to eat in the classroom or enjoy one of the restaurants in Town Square.
