Do you struggle to find clothes that fit just right? This hands-on course will guide you through the entire process of creating custom, well-fitted garments from start to finish. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your sewing skills, you’ll gain the confidence to design and construct clothing that truly fits your body and style.
In this class, you’ll learn:
Sewing Basics – Get comfortable with your sewing machine as you learn threading, types of stitches, and how to sew straight and curved lines.
Pattern Making – Learn how to take measurements and draft your own basic bodice, skirt, or pant patterns.
Fabric & Materials – Choose the right fabrics, threads, needles, and notions for your project, and explore techniques for altering and draping your pattern.
Garment Construction – Assemble your pieces, add zippers and pockets, and practice sewing clean seams, linings, and interfacing.
Closures & Finishing – Add professional details like buttonholes, buttons, and hems for a polished finish.
Fitting & Alterations – Perfect your garment with fitting adjustments and shaping techniques.
By the end of the course, you’ll walk away with a completed, custom-fitted garment and the skills to keep sewing with confidence.
