Want to create your own custom screenprinted T-shirt or tote bag?
In this workshop, students will use easily available materials to create a design onĀ screens and print on fabric including T-shirts and tote bags, or paper. Students will create original designs and create stencils in class to apply to screens and experiment with black and color inks. All aspects of screenprinting techniques from inking to squeegee technique to cleaning and maintaining screens will be covered. Students will learn how to prepare screens, print multiples, and dry and fix images on fabric or paper. Students will leave the class fully equiped to carry out screenprinting at home.

The instructor Maggie Gourlay has her own screenprint studio and has taughtĀ classes in printmaking, screenprinting, drawing, 2D Design, and writing about art at Montgomery College Rockville and Towson University. She has also taught art at the high school and grade school level.
