This four-class series is open to beginner and intermediate students ages 13-17. “Block printing” is another word for linoleum or woodcuts. In this class, we will be using a block called the “Soft-Kut”. We will cover correct carving techniques, tools, positioning, inking up, printing, and composition (positive/negative space). Experiment with different colors of non-toxic ink and different color backgrounds.
Why Printmaking? It is fun, it is versatile, it is relaxing, and it is a way to make multiples BY HAND. No xeroxes in this medium!
