This class will help high school students who are applying for admission to art college develop a statement, and practice interviewing for a portfolio review. Having a great set of images to submit to college is the first step to getting into a college. But when applications are reviewed, students are often crammed into lines and have to present their work quickly to an admission committee. Having a statement, and a pitch can make a difference with helping students secure a spot for college. This four-week course focuses on having students generate an artist statement that is meaningful and well-written. Students will get practice introducing and showing their work on a table in a short practice interview. By the end of the course students will be ready for portfolio reviews.
This class is ideal for students in grades 8-11 who are developing their portfolio process.
