Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Explore the timeless art of papercutting in this immersive two-day workshop with acclaimed cut paper artist Melanie Kehoss. Through an engaging artist talk and live demonstrations, Melanie will introduce the historical context of her work and guide students through precision knife-cutting techniques.
Drawing from this inspiration, students will design and construct their own illuminated shadow lightbox. This unique project combines lessons in design, drawing, and paper construction with an emphasis on light, shadow, and archival presentation, culminating in a dramatic display of personal expression through cut paper.
This Center for Craft Studies program is made possible in part by a generous grant from the Windgate Foundation.Â
Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list needed accommodations.Â
Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.Â
