Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Trade your brushes for something unexpected. In this class, we’ll paint with unconventional tools—including everyday objects you’d never expect to see in a studio.
This class is open to everyone, from beginners curious about painting to experienced artists ready to experiment. We’ll explore the textures created by plastic sheets, let colors flow across the canvas, and use painting knives to build semi-sculptural effects, along with many other techniques.
It’s a hands-on exploration of material, texture, and expression and a chance to see what happens when you let go of the usual painting rules.
Students will have access to instruction in both English and Chinese during this class.
This class is for students ages 14 and up.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed three days prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
