This class is part of our free class series in honor of Black History Month.
Faith Ringgold is an American painter, writer mixed media sculptor, and performance artist, best known for her narrative quilts. “In 1983, I began writing stories on my quilts as an alternative. That way, when my quilts were hung up to look at, or photographed for a book, people could still read my stories.”
Now more than ever you need a creative break and the opportunity to be a part of a community. This class is perfect for students of any skill level as your instructor will walk you through the step-by-step process beginning at sketching your design all the way through the finishing steps.
Instruction will be provided through the Zoom platform. Students will need to have a webcam and the ability to download zoom on their computer, phone or tablet.
If you choose to use materials at home, you will need the following: acrylic paint (red, yellow, blue, black, white), paint brushes, a pencil, and a canvas/other surface.
