In this 6 week class, students will learn the basics of painting with acrylics, and drawing with charcoal and graphite. The students will explore and acquire skills in the elements of art such as line, composition, value, color, and form. Some of the techniques explored will be color mixing, shading, brush-handling, and rendering perspective. All subjects of the artworks will be derived from in-person observation and will include portraits, still lives, and environments.
This class is designed so that it may be taken multiple times, and is appropriate for all skill levels, from ages 13 to 18. It will help to build and improve upon the student’s portfolio.
