Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
We’re kicking things off with the basics! Each class starts with a hands-on demonstration, so students can dive right in and build confidence with their brushes and color mixing. We’ll be working with watercolors and acrylics—both are easy to wash off hands and brushes with just soap and water. But heads up—paint stains on clothes can be a bit tricky! That’s why we provide aprons, and we recommend your child wears old clothes just in case things get extra creative (aka a little messy!).
Throughout the course, students will pick up some cool art terms like tone, value, composition, and contour—plus, they’ll get familiar with the colorful world of the “color wheel.” They’ll also check out famous masterpieces from art history and even see artwork from past students for inspiration! Our subjects will be fun and varied, including leaves, flowers, veggies, fruit (yes, real ones!), and even imaginative landscapes they dream up themselves.

We encourage independence with our youngest learners; all children’s classes are designed to be drop off only. Children under 13 must be dropped off and picked up at their classroom by a parent or caregiver.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
