Students will be experimenting with oil pastels in this free class. Students will learn how colors can look against different backgrounds; blending; different strokes and linework. The goal is not to copy the sample for the day exactly, but to add something of your own to it. A bird, a plant, an animal, sky elements, a border, for example. Applied with skill, oil pastels can resemble an oil painting.
Materials Needed:
- One sheet drawing paper 11 “x 14” (preferably paper for charcoal or pastels)
- One sheet of black paper
- One set of oil pastels
- One white colored pencil for sketching basic lines black paper
