Neriage (Inlay using Colored Clay) Workshop

“Neri” is the Japanese root word meaning “to mix”. “Age” is a root word meaning to “pull up”; “Komi” means to “press into”. Try both Neriage and Nerikome to make colored clay pieces from marbled clay and blocks of color. Throw in some inlay techniques to create even more ways to use colored clay.

VisArts will provide red and white clay as well as colorant to make blue clay. This class is suitable for all levels; projects will work for handbuilding as well as the wheel. Students will make small memory pieces using marbled clay, colored blocks and colored inlays – small memory pieces )
